Title: More in depth Noob buyers Guide ?
Post by: Pax on September 20, 2015, 11:45:45 AM
I've Read through the specs and guides about which tower has what but...is there KEY things to look for or have the seller show you? Diagnostics? Hard drive life, etc.?  Are there hidden things that would scream "DONT BUY!!!?" thanks to all of you!

dont worry too much..
grab whatever g4 tower u can and go from there.
id suggest a quicksilver just because they are great because they offer good performance with little noise without having to do any noise mods..
it depends on what u want to do tho. if  u want to make use of pci hardware
thats the way to go.. if  not.. id go for a laptop like a g4 ti book or ibook g4 900

It's usually a good sign if it's in good 'physical' shape and not all banged up/scratched/cracked case/etc.  Stuff like rust and HEAVY dust/dirt scare me off. If you can see it up and running an OS then that's a big thumbs up! No sense in buying one that needs fixing before it will work as one that DOES work can be had for low$. I consider installed hard drives like a bonus as they would get replaced anyway.
