Title: Izotope Ozone For OS 9
Post by: mrhappy on May 31, 2015, 08:09:05 AM
Was there a OS 9 version of Izotope Ozone?? (can't remember if we discussed this and my search didn't turn up anything here)

That's a NICE sounding versatile plug that's VERY useful, easy to use and can produce some great results! It seem that everything it does, it does very well!

nope, never. that is from around 2004 and requires some 1.5 Ghz on a G4.

first shows up in october 2003 as directx with "pro tools version coming soon"
http://web.archive.org/web/20031022002329/http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/

but it says "Current Version: 2.01" hmm..

here is a reference to the name "ozone" in april of 2001:

the original page: http://web.archive.org/web/20010411000019/http://www.izotope.com/products/ozone/
states that:
Quote
iZotope Ozone will be released in June 2001, at a price of $199. Anyone who registered for iZotope Vinyl will get an email at that time with a special 30 day introductory offer of $99 for iZotope Ozone.

looks like it began as windows/directx only + as a plugin for winamp and then
was developed for mac os x.. looks like they skipped os9.

vst version seems to first been released around march 2004

i think this coincides with the release of "v3"

Yeah I did a little poking' around too and saw that it started life under windows... seems like a mac version didn't come into the picture until ver3. I LOVE that smooth sounding eq though!  I guess we can cross that one off the OS 9 list.  :'(
