Title: ferrite core ring noise suppressor
Post by: supernova777 on April 25, 2015, 08:53:29 PM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrite_bead

Quote
A ferrite bead is a passive electric component that suppresses high frequency noise in electronic circuits. It is a specific type of electronic choke. Ferrite beads employ the dissipation of high frequency currents in a ferrite ceramic to build high frequency noise suppression devices. Ferrite beads may also be called blocks, cores, rings, EMI filters, or chokes

i noticed some edirol products came shipped with these to block noise
on headphone + signal inputs + outputs

anyone have experience using these to eliminate unwanted noise?

they are quite cheap:

i think i have seen them packaged with items i have bought but i didnt understand what it was for!
