Hey there guys. Well i got my hands on a 20" Apple Cinema Display. It has an ADC connector, and it's the one with the 1680/1050 resolution.
The bastard looks great, has a really good picture quality, but something is wrong. The USB ports on the back don't wanna work for some reason, and it prevents me from booting into OS9. All of this happens on my dual Quicksilver. If i connect the original 15" ADC display or the old 20" ForMac display, OS9 boots without a glitch. Any ideas? I was thinking of the power supply but it boots perfectly into Tiger and Leopard...

did u try just removing the usb ports + restartng?

This can't be done easily. Probably he have to disassemble the display and cut some wires ...
I have one of this and worked well the last twelve years ...

I can't boot into OS9 at all using this display. But it works flawlessly under Tiger and Leopard. It even prevents me from booting from an OS9 cd. This is what makes me think i might be having power issues since the 15" original display and the ForMac Gallery both work perfectly. The 15" is powered through ADC but the ForMac Gallery is powered by a separate power supply even though it's an ADC display. I think i'm gonna try to remove some unwanted card and peripherals and see what happens. I'll let you guys know as soon as i get some results.

Well i was right. The Apple display was too much for my power supply. It was even making strange noises while the computer was still off with that display connected. Got back to my trusty ForMac Gallery for now.

Maybe i'll replace it someday but not today. Especially since replacing it means that i won't have power through ADC anyway.
