Ed, if you want to get a cheap sata card, you can talk to the member max1zzz and he can make one for you.
send him a pm and he can give you a cost per card
this would be your best option i would suggest u buy a few at a time this makes it
worth it both for him and for you
but it would take time for him to process this.. maybe a few weeks.

He was in U.K. too, don't?

what do you mean "Don't?" puzzled there.
I've found him and emailed over info and request for info, etc. see what he says.

The via cards will have higher failer rate, but there cheep. Really cheap.
I can get them in the UK for around £5
I have had 3 of the PC via cards and only one ever gave me any problems, around once a month the controller would drop off the face of the earth, rebooting the server it was in brought it back online.
I would love to buy that SATA-IF150CM card, But my project budget is currently already allocated. But if someone was to buy the card i could dump the firmware from it
As for the MSATAII-12MAC, can you take a picture of that card? I always assumed it had a Sil3112 chipset on it, I am intrigued to hear ir is something different
I remember him telling pound...

My English skills are low-profile ;D
In Spanish, when you make an affirmation but you are not tottally sure, you end the sentence with "¿No es asi?" and that means "Is it right?". I thought "Don't?" would be the same. If Ed on U.K. can´t understand me, I wonder what U.S.A or Canadian folks would undestand.
I am tottally lost on translation...

I think the right expression should be:
He was in U.K. too, don't He?
Any way, There is no need to show personal data "in public". So no more on the max1zzz nationality topic please.
