Title: multiple os installed on multiple partitions shows double icons on the desktop
Post by: supernova777 on October 02, 2014, 12:41:41 PM
so i have created multiple partitions on 2 seperate ata133 HD's - i have split each of them into 3 partitions of 25gb or so - giving me 6 partition "Disk" icons on my desktop
installations of 8.6, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2.2 etc

but for some reason now i have icons from each installation showing up on my desktop..
the icons for the hard drives never double up its the short cut files that are showing 4 copies of each of them (as i cloned the same install 4+ times)

can this be fixed by "rebuilding desktop file" ? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2344
how do i stop this from happening?

This is OK.
Just delete the ones that you don't want, or don't clone hard disk or partitions with apps or alias on the desktop...

yep that would probably be the best idea - everyone learn from my mistake! ;D
