Title: WPA via Airport WIFI
Post by: robbo007 on September 30, 2014, 02:53:35 PM
Hi all,

Are there any hacks to enable WPA via the airport wifi card? Don't really want to activate WEP on my Airport extreme so my iMAC G4 has network access.
Thanks,
Rob

This is a driver issue in Mac OS 9. Your original AirPort card supports WPA in OSX, but not in OS9.
Write a driver and all should be well ;)

On my Powerbook I'm unable to connect to a WPA network even on OsX. Everything works on OsX using an USB key with RTL8191 chip, this works great also on Ubuntu natively, no need to install any driver.

Must be something wrong with your OS X install then. Works great on my TiBook in Tiger and Leopard :)
