I love how in Kontakt you can turn on the auto preview button and it lets you scroll through your samples to audition them. There was a sample organization software I read about called SoundMiner for OS9 but I don't think that's floating around. I'd like a really lite program to audition samples and maybe do some slight editing as well, something that isn't a VST and will work in standalone mode.
What are my options?

Alchemy 3.0 allows for sample audition and then can load and edit. It's an option in the "open file" dialogue.

this is a somewhat crappy solution ... but you can always use the quicktime preview option in open dialogs of any program.
