Title: mac applications timeline 'by operating system'

here i have created simple browsable posts for seeing which
mac applications were released during the time when which os was current + most recent
it can help maybe for those curious or thinking to plan appropriate versions for vintage retro builds and coordinating compatible application versions

simply click the top links to jump from post to post re: different mac os
these dates are not 100% correct but they are collected frm a spreadsheet i created over the last 4-5 years collecting data from online articles to give a
proper overview

the above was based on information i gathered into a spreadsheet
the spreadsheet goes well past 2005 to of course 2014 but i have not posted that
as im sure you guys all want to ignore all non-os9 information
my interest is and always has been based primarily upon DAW software moreso then
focusing only on mac os 9... one can never know all things about os9 without knowing
some things of X or windows.... i value information of all platforms + software, as i want to have a clear
understanding of all things. if i have helped even one person like myself with this burning curiousity
for a much more indepth overview + understanding of the history + Evolution of the software then
i am happy.. i wish someone had done the work for me.. becase it has not been easy.

a more visual representation
this graphic has taken a great deal of mental effort + research for me to produce
over the course of the last year

i will be maintaining + making additions to this document
its by no means perfect, but it serves as a good guideline + can be very helpful to those
looking to setup vintage rigs
as always any intelligent people with information to add to the effort, or corrections
your input is welcomed + appreciated

thanks for reading

updated again
the orange column represents rewire compatibility starting from nuendo 1.5+
other columns are win OS / mac os / mac hardware
and the other x + x columns were for personal tracking purposes

on the chart Macos9 stops at 2001 - however different versions
of macos9 were being released right through to 2004 I think
for the mdd - emacs - imac dome.

the timeline only shows the period of which mac os 9 was the "LASTEST" os choice.. same goes for all of the operating systems..
they are indicative of the first release date of a superceding os

the actual release dates of the os are not accurately represented tho.. its just for perspective overview...
