is the audio impulses in a universal format?
would the link above work? for mac os 9 version of altiverb too?

Audio Ease Impulse Responses format is only suitable for Audio Ease Altiverb.
... but the Impulse Responses can be available in audio format (aiff and wav) and can be "imported" in most of convolution reverbs, including Altiverb.

if u click the links above it is explained that these are for altiverb..
modelled after the classic 1986 lexicon 480L hardware reverb unit (mega expensive)

some articles mentoning the 480L:
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug08/articles/reverbpart2_0808.htm

http://melodiefabriek.com/blog/its-a-classic-the-rv7000-reverb/

theres a newer plugin version for snow leopard emulation of this
http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=837.msg869#msg869
but that is offtopic;)

im interested to know if these above impluse responses for altiverb will work with the mac os 9 version.
it also states: The files are .AIF's (impulses) and .PST's (presets for Space Designer).

here we see the similar uad version of the lexicon which they call the lexicon 224
these fader dials really offer  more robust control over the sound of the reverb

ok i see now the 224 was another hardware modell

???
We have VST and RTAS altiverb.

I do not know how to take your comment.

I am feeling ALL MIX and HD users (not only you) are joking on LE and FREE users. Kinda elitist.  >:(

Everyone has what he/she has. No need to point RTAS is a inferior solution to TDM.

I think I have to take it ease.  :P  ;D

now that you mention it, there should be a HTDM and MAS version somewhere, too.

There is not a single Digital Performer evangelist on forum.  :(

It sounds good. And the MasterWorks plugs are awesome/great. Probably there is "So much gear, so little time! " https://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much-gear-so-little-time/ (https://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much-gear-so-little-time/) . For most of us there is no point in knowing workflows in more than 2-3 DAWs

Also there is no HTDM evangelist on forum. I still don't know if Protools HD on OS9 need an iLok or not!

MIX users are legion. It is a tested system.  ;) HD interfaces still cost $$$. And HD cores too.

unfortunately most people are too worried about their own lives to worry about trying to help a community of people looking to rediscover music tech from the past

i can see very clearly the way someone posts on msg boards for instance, whether they care to contribute usefull information, or like rather to brag about themselves...

for me the whole pt of interacting here, is to try to spark discussion that leaves behind a trail of usefull info, it is about the reference information that gets left behind, not the actual discussion

They are not hidden. Simply, not here. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/629750-any-digital-performer-users.html (https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/629750-any-digital-performer-users.html)

Most are here on http://www.motunation.com/forum/index.php (http://www.motunation.com/forum/index.php)

Here we have members macboy, pacatos and MacGuy. But they do not try to sell us DP.

There is some limitation on what can be used on busses. (?) I think that you have to use all the 5 inserts in the busses on the same kind. You will have to ask a TDM user... I've no clues.

Not all TDM plugs  have RTAS version (Drawner) . Normally TDM includes a RTAS version "free". Also some plugs are only native (RTAS).

You could buy URS in 2 versions (I think Waves also) The Native (LE and Free) and the TDM.

I am not sure if there are Audiosuite plugs TDM only.

you can use both but RTAS must be inserted before TDM.

though in the case of altiverb HTDM, you will not win anything when you do that.

What DAW are people using the VST version with?  Have been trying with different versions of Peak but Altiverb seems to crash them out.

This is on a G4 PowerBook with 1Gb of memory, is that too skimpy for Altiverb?

when i originally bought it i ran a 7300 with xlr8 G-400 CPU and well... you could use it.

of course true stereo requires 4 times the power of mono and the CPU usage also depends on the lenght and brilliance of the IR.

but it´ll work on any G4.

never tried editors but in the DAW app it works.

You probably need to allocate more memory to Peak in the GetInfo box. Altiverb is a RAM hog.

Hi all,
as far as I can remember I had problems using more than one Altiverb HDTM in one logic session (6.4.1). I cannot reproduce it anymore, but since that time I use only ONE instance of Altiverb as AUX in a session (Protools-TDM-Mix-Rig). I still have also other Reverbs which are not convolution but also do their job in addition to the altiverb.

Best, paule.

Ah yes, thought I'd set this up but evidently not. Running OK now, cheers for the reminder  :)

Does anyone have or know of additional IR libraries for the OS9 version of Altiverb?

Finding it quite useful and would be interested in any additional libraries that might be out there.
