Close View never cut the icing for me. The only good thing I found with OSX is the system zoom. Has anyone found something for OS9?
-
i think i´ve lost mine, but as far as i remember it was called something with "zoom" and was a control panel
-
I used to have my monitors about 5 feet away in front of me behind a mixer. I got tired of squinting and using the Zoom feature in OSX so instead, I redid my entire studio so I could have my monitors only a foot away. I think we're out of luck for a zoom app in OS9 unfortunately.

If you are talking about that feature: http://screenshots.de.sftcdn.net/blog/de/2012/01/Bildschirmfoto-2012-01-10-um-15.29.49.png
(I don´t knnow, I never really used X), this is existing for a long time at Mac OS. At least from System 7.5 onwards. It is a Control Panel, and you can find it at the Mac OS 9 CDs at "CD Extras" – at least at Retail Versions of the OS. In German it is called "Vergrösserung" and is inside "Bedienungshilfen" in the "CD Extras Folder".

i refound it in my archives catalog, it was called "zoomie". as it seems i dont have the file.
-
haha, found it:
http://www.patchdance.com/shareware.html
it has nothing to do with zooming in. :D
-
I don't follow how all this relates to my original post. I'm looking for a system zoom in OS9 if someone uncovers one fallen by the wayside.

some of them will go into my next installer, too. i just got a 300 controlpanel package from a friends software archive. when i have time, they all get sorted and included. :)

Close View is a headache to use.
-
yes it is.
there is always the option to lower the screen resolution.

Magnification
Closeview 7.1
CloseView, a utility included in every Macintosh, enables users to magnify screen contents up to 16 times. This utility allows for easier viewing by users who are visually impaired. Freeware. See http://www2.apple.com/disability/disability_home.html

MFZoom 2.1
MFZoom is a system extension that increases the menu and window title font size to 14pt. This is useful for big screen monitor users and those who have to squint to see the normal menu font. Freeware. See http://www.ecnet.net/users/gnorris/place.shtml
mfzoom_21.hqx (17k)
ZoomLens 2.5
This program magnifies the area around the mouse pointer in a box in the corner of the screen, making text and icons easier to see for individuals with low vision. Magnifies the area up to 24 times its regular size. Enlarges the menu bar, but not the actual menus. Freeware. See http://www.sped.ukans.edu/~dlance/freeindex.html

yup, thats the one.
-
zoom lens shows the RGB colors as 64 bit values. very, very strange.
but i think if it would work while dragging the mouse and had an option to stay in foreground it would be the perfect tool.
