Hi guys,
I've been trying some different OS 9.2.2. versions on my Quicksilver 933 mhz 2002. I also tried the drag-drop version from the download section. I've been noticing a big difference in perfomance. In short; if you want the best perfomance, use the original Mac OS ROM 9.01. Other later versions result in high CPU loads and strange issues like unreliable USB etc. For those with a QS 2002 machine I've uploaded the orginal install disks to the FTP server.
N'joy.

interesting.
one of my g4's is the same machine ;)
i think i also have the original 'restore' disks for this machine
id have to double check i was given a stack of different original discs when i bought this machine
i remember i made a post about this http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=898.msg3131#msg3131
logically it would make sense for me to test + see if the results are the same for my machine?

Sure do. I am curious. But it's a known fact that QS2002 runs best on Mac OS ROM 9.01. And now I can confirm it from my own experience. ;)

The previous owners of our G4's who paid a lot $$$/€€€/???. ;D They were complaining about issues after updated OS ROM versions @Apple support.

so how do i make sure that my qs is running the right rom version? did u have to do a system restore from the original disks ? is this what u did to get this version installed?

im about to reset my quicksilver today... probably do a "Restore in place" + overwrite all os files... this seems to work pretty well ive tried it a few times..
