Good evening, fellow Mac users;
I used to own a Power Macintosh 9600 with Mac OS 8.6 installed. A few years ago, that was. With lots of trouble I succeeded to establish an Outlook Express 5 account with a Gmail address. Frankly, I forgot noting the exact server settings prior to giving the computer away to a Mac museum.
Now I own a Power Macintosh G4 Digital Audio with Mac OS 9.2.2. Again, I would like to access my Gmail e-mails via Outlook Express (or any other client that you can recommend).
As I'm unaware of the required settings, I literally spent hours trying different options. What I've tried so far:
Enabling/disabling SSL;
POP3 instead of IMAP;
Characters $ or % instead of the @, and of course:
Exact obeying of the official Google guides.
Of course, Gmail's security features to allow insecure login are applied.
Thank-you in advance for any help!
Best,
Canned Brain
