As no one spoke up concerning the Mesa Blue Angel 1x12…
I’ve now headed that other direction.
Howz a-boot a Pignose 7-100, 5W portable amp? (Tiny little honkin’ things.)
I acquired a pristine dud (pristine… except that it doesn’t function).
Checked everything down to the main PCB and it seems that therein lies the rub.
(Reverse-engineered AM transistor radio?)
So, got a Pignose gathering dust in the closet or under the bed (etc.)
that has possibly leaked its’ batteries? No problem for me.
Fully functional or one just fer zee parts… beg, buy, or trade.
Lemme kuh-no.

I have one that's 47 years old. It's a suicide amp because my wife (the actual owner) would definitely murder me were I to sell it.
Meanwhile, there's not much to them so they're easy to fix and worst case, they're 60-70 bucks brand new on fleabay.

But seriously, if I can’t locate a main board or another, more easily-repaired whole Pignose 7100…
I might simply replace the transistors & transformers… OR perhaps... “Frankenstein - approach”
the internals with a higher-wattage output amp… and still come in under the $74.95 new price.
A little Pignose amp… on steroids? Mwahahaha!

Well, thanks to GaryN’s comments and tutelage regarding transistor and transformer testing (coupled with sheer serendipity) this litle piggy is now again fully functional. Total cost = zero. (So now you can dig out your broken little Pignoses and check this… or put ’em back under the bed, in the closet, etc.)
The culprit (in this case and probably many more, untold others) was an “interrupter blade” inside of the 9V AUX female jack that was not and will not, completely close… intended to complete / maintain the power supply circuit from the batteries when no external 9V source is present.
Jumpered between the yellow and red wire lugs on the jack… portability attained & renewed.

I remember my 'Pigger' quite fondly however it was stolen back in early 1977. Had 2 roommates and a 'friend' needed a place to stay for awhile. He moved out after 2-3 rent free months then 2 weeks later broke in and stole everything!! Nice fella! >:(
I think he was mostly after my '59 Les Paul that I had been leaving there, however I just got a weird feeling and took it with me that weekend thankfully!
