Hey everyone,
wondering if anyone knows of a utility that would allow easy conversion from whatever sound format TO system 7 sounds ?
Likewise, any tools that convert FROM system 7 tools to whatever format? I'd like to convert some of the old recordings of my kids when they were younger and keep them in a more modern format (mp3 prefered, but I may be out of luck)

i dont know by heart, it is too long ago. but to create them there was simple simple trick (like dropping them into the system folder or something?).
otherwise, they are more or less regular 8 bit PCM files and half the audio apps can read and convert them, up to catalina, the most obvious solution for OS9 are quicktime player, soundapp, or audacity.

when think about it, the OS7 app "simple sound" should also run in OS9. you might want to raise its memory in the "get info".

Bias Peak will save as System 7 sound. Even version 5.2 on OSX.
Barbabatch too.

Quicktime 6 did the job perfectly! (I wasn't even thinking of QT at first, I always associate it with video playback, but then it's so much more :) )
Thanks for all the suggestions - I've marked this thread as solved.
