I don't browse the web on my OS9 system, I do it from OSX. I tried Classilla but that seems to be a bit of a headache. What do you use?
-
Classilla 9.3.2 here on mdd 1.25ghz (2003) 8)
-
I don't currently have an OS 9 Mac to test it on (it's in the mail!), but isn't "iCab" supposed to be a decent browser? (http://www.icab.de/dl.php)

I browse MacOS9Lives! on every device I have. From Android to Win7 to OSX to OS9
The fastest ways to download Adrive files are OSX and W7.
OS9 w/Classilla is slow but works. I have used before IE on OS9 just because when you download a file it send it to Stuffit to unarchive it. Now I know we all have in Aplications/Internet Utilities all the stuff needed and use Classilla to download, but never "launch the file" unless the file been a BIN file.

It depend in my case. When I am already on OSX, I try to download from there, as it is quicker. All files bigger than 200 Mb, I download on OSX. If I already booted on OS9 and the file is small, I just use classilla.

It was a decent browser on its age...As it was IE for its age...Now is Classilla age. ;D With a little help of its brother tenfourfox ;D

I mostly browse the forum on my iPad since i'm generally doing it when i get up and read my news. I haven't had the time to boot any of my OS9 machines in a while.

I wasn't aware of TenFourFox. Why do you use both Clasilla and TFF? Does one do something the other cannot? Or does one run in OS 9 and the other in OS 10 only?

They both are from Cameron "ClassicHasClass" from think classic forum. His blog is http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com.es/ (http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com.es/)
Classilla is for OS9 (even 8.6) and TFF is for Tiger/Leo. Classilla is the most modern browser for 10.1, 10.2 and even 10.3. Some people say is better to use classilla than latest firefox and Opera for Panther

I wonder if PowerPC macs would have last so long without Cameron's works
Does one do something the other cannot?
TFF w OSX have a better browsing experience than Classilla w OS9, have modern addons and give fasters downloads. OSX is the best utility for OS9 ;D

most things work great in safari 4. where it fails, tenfourfox is the one and only useful alternative you have.

Safari 4 for Tiger and 5 for Leo are like camino, long time abandoned. There is a version of Safari more modern for Tiger and for Leo. I can not remember its name

I am browsing this forum and currently writing this message at my PowerMacintosh 9600/350 with Classilla under OS 9. This site works very well.
-
Classilla works perfectly for me. Running OS 9 on my Mac Mini G4 1.5 Ghz.
-
I am reading the forum from a G4 9.2.2 using Classilla. Glad to see the site works!
-
A more modern machine would be faster, but it's much more fun to use Classilla on my G3 iMacs. No problem reading posts, but I'll see how it handles this attachment...

I have no problem with the attachment on my 9600 PowerMac.

Yes, from my 1.0Ghz upgraded Cube running 9.2.2 and Leopard. Right now using Webkit, but rebooted into 9 with Classilla just to post.

The site doesn't look too pretty in Netscape Communicator 4.8, but after turning off all java and CSS, it looks good enough to read and send and receive messages.
I don't think the image screens will work but let me attach one without converting it...

Yep, it is quite useable once you've got used to the layout.
Compared to Classilla it's quicker, less buggy, uses a fraction of the memory, and works in OS8.1.
Your screen shot won't open until the file type has been set to PICT.
Perhaps a more web friendly file format will show up though...
