Title: Ableton Live 4 archive problem.
Post by: Antoninbarreau on November 10, 2018, 01:30:44 PM
Hi! I've got a problem! Every time I try to unarchive the .bin archive of Ableton Live 4 that comes from here, I get an error when mounting the .smi image saying that it isn't recognized. And inside of Mac OS 9 it's the same... Any idea why and how to fix this?

i think someone has macBinary encoded the files TWICE to alot of the archives
i have noticed that i had to rename the file i downloaded first because there is a file of the SAME NAME inside of itself.. and when you drag to stuffit expander it causes a filename collision and stops the extraction and you end up with file of the same name with a "1" on the end but the extraction sequence does not complete

try renaming the file first before extracting it to prevent the filename collision,
again this is just a guess, based on what ive experienced. i may be way off on whats happening to you.. or it may help.
good lluck

When last tested, everything worked, I have NOT applied macbinary 2X ?

But...

We moved the entire download library to (2) new hosting servers, when time permits, I will have to power up a G4 and test both the Logic anthology and the Ableton downloads

Lastly...

I get happy emails from many who are using most of the downloads without issues... so I don't think we have a global issue
