We know that some people around the world don't come to our forums and some of our members are inactive in the forums because they don't speak English.
Furthermore we have active members from around the world that speak English and have a different native language, so we ask to this users to help as moderators of a new "A basic World Help Section" with subsections in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Deutsch and so on...
A basic World Help Section:
-Basic Help Section in Spanish. Sección de Ayuda Básica en Español.
-Basic Help Section in French. Section D'aide Basic en Français.
-Basic Help Section in Portuguese. Seção Ajuda Básica em Português.
-Basic Help Section in Deutsch. Grund Hilfe Abschnitt in Deutsch.
-and so on ...
This sections are intended to basic help only and if some relevant information appears in it, it must be ported to the main English section.
Any language can be included if we have a Native + English speaker moderator. We need your help to push this forum to the next level !
Thank You.

I could write something in Swedish. Even though the Swedes are really good at english (some American TV shows are broadcasted on Swedish TV without any subtitles for instance), there might be good to have some kind of basic information in Swedish.
-
Thank you Knezzen.
So we already have Swedish section moderator :)
Nobody else?
-
germans also speak english well enough ... but one never know. :)
i would suggest to start up with one forum only for all the different languages? then we will see what happens.
-
If you intend to open a Romanian section, i'm your guy.

I would accept to be the Spanish moderator. I want to give less work to MacTron. ;D I am also free to be "general" Logic Mod and PT LE Mod. There are more advanced TDM and HD users out there...
-
Is there a French/Portuguese user out there?
I can not believe that NO Italian/Greek/Russian users had talked to us still... ???
Brazil?

if there is nobody else, then yes. but lets see first if there are any posts. :)

i can already see a strong nepali OS9 electronic musician user group (and a troll posting hundreds of assumptions in the nepali forums)
-
I would accept to be the Spanish moderator.
Ok. Thanks.
So we already have moderator of the Spanish section. :)

Ok. Thanks.
Just after the first post on German, I'll set you moderator of the German section. LOL

Google said.
That's why we need native German speakers.
So we'll be grateful if you suggest us a better sentence.

Yes, it is a G3 b&w.
Furthermore they had some valuable software that never was available on a western language

UP!

funny thing is, is seems not possible to find a good translation for the adjective "basic".
-
does anyone speak polish??

No, Dutch. Count me in.

user mat pointed out correctly that the language forums are not visible when you are not a member already.
-
and maybe it should be moved up (below discussion zone)
those who are logged can close the tab, but those who are guests should be able to find it.

Well, I could be your french guy, specialized in french-canadian
P.O.

adamisapple is the french moderator. But he doesn't come so often as you do,
... so the job is for you :) thank You.
-
Hmmm!
maybe I spoke too fast: I should have asked about the job description first...
Seems I got promoted as the moderator of the french section, but I never done that kind of work before! Is there a crash course manual about that somewhere?

Can you tell us if the MacBidole article is well translated? http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=1652.0 (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=1652.0)
Also there should be info on le Mac OS9 that have eluded us.
-
Well, for starters, it's MacBidouille!
automated translations always make me cringe...
at least the first bit is correct. the following two should read:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that changing the bus from 133 to 166 Mhz would overclock the machine to more than 1 Ghz. To avoid this, you must reduce the multiplier from 6.5x to 6x
Watch out !!!!!
To ensure the stability of the machine after changes, it is imperative to have only DDR-SDRAM PC 2700! 2100 simms are to be avoided !!!
Changing the bus takes 2 steps:
1) changes to the motherboard
the photo is the underside of the motherboard.
I surrounded the three resistors in question.
They are in order R677, R678 and R676
For a bus of 133mhz: there is a resistor at each location
for a bus to 167MHz: you must remove R676
(It's about 100% on because I had 2:30 to scan both cards under the microscope and that's the only difference)
So there must be more to it (I have not taken the time to try and ram no longer lends itself to such practices)
Apple has added a second protection on Bi 867 cards: If you change the settings just on the motherboard, it will go to 167 Mhz only if you install a 1Ghz or 1.25GHz bipro card.
(So I'll turn it back to Amber:)
So on the daughterboard pictured, there is a series of three resistors,
numbered as follows.
167 Mhz Bus:
R27 nothing
R22 nothing
R26 Resistor
133 Mhz Bus:
R27 nothing
R22 Resistor
R26 Resistor
So it is a security or a lock from Apple

I'll leave it to you to edit the original posts: I have no way to do this...
