Best OS 9 card, hands down.
I think there were some ATI 8500's with 128mb or Vram, and those would be nice too.
It's just these old cards, and the old hadware to run them on is only going to last so much longer.
We're going to need to run them in emulators.

** i have that 128MB Radeon 8500.. its my favourite card for os9, but then again i dont have a Ti4600! as of yet, i tried to buy one a few years ago but it turned up DOA from ebay

** but thats why i have 4 g3/g4s + 1 g4 stashed in the basement.. im not using them all at once.. they are there for backup purposes
We're going to need to run them in emulators.
** emulators cant connect to vintage midi processing gear so the whole QEMU thing is useless

An emulator could do MIDI, I know almost nothing about audio, tell me what type of device you are using in you mac for MIDI.
A PCI card?
A USB to MIDI?

Serial port ! of course. outboard midi processing unit connected via Serial RS-422.

Qemu supports USB passthough:

Tho the FPU of qemu-system-ppc needs a lot of work, as does the Vec unit. I would guess that audio work hits the FPU pretty hard, so until someone fixes that up, it wouldn't do you much good.
A few years down the road........
