Title: I need advice using ATA cables
Post by: ThunderSock on September 04, 2020, 01:04:47 PM
In the middle of a Cube hard drive replacement (OS9), I am getting a little lost understanding how to work with ATA cables. The picture below shows where I am.

The adapter I got requires a molex-berg adapter for power, and a male-male ATA cable for data.

Firstly, the cable I got appears to be the slower 40-wire kind, I will get another one with 80 wires.

With that said-
Does ATA allow for a male to male adapter cable to the drive? For all I know that may not be allowed.

Thanks.
