hmm it could work but the digi 001 has no wordclock in or out
then again neither does the digi 002
but i guess it the digi 001 would slave to the tascam via the adat optical toslink

the 1082 is not compatble with mac os 9.. u should know this;)

I know the 1884 works. An that is perfect. Load a cubase for the FW to take 8 Ins and send it to 001 and use PT with 16 ins or Use PT with 8 Aux and work in Cubase
Looking for MacOS 9.2.4

u mean on another computer? in osx..? thats not very efficient;) power consumption wise

i like that the FW-1804 has inserts on 4 of the inputs.. and these signals route to the adat out
very cool, plus this 1804 interface is newer. like 2006.. and it may be the most modern peice of gear
(production date wise) to support mac os 9

the guy who copied it did not make a disc image.. it is only the files and he sent it as a .zip file
so ive extracted the files on my macbook air on 10.6 and ive created a .dmg that will be mountable
on mac os 9 using disk copy 6.5b

the upload is complete now;)
"ptle532(forDigi002).dmg"

fuckin right;)

i wonder if these faders on the digi 002 are only able to be used to control its own internal inputs? or they can be assigned to mix the levels on the adat incoming signal aswell? perhaps i will soon find out

They work like the Pro Control and Control 24. They are motorized and used to control the tracks in Pro Tools. Has nothing to do with the in or outputs.

i need someone to test.. they appear with proper icons in snow leopard but with the cross symbol to show that they are not compatible with the os
i was alarmed at first.. but i was given the ASR in a similar format and that was ok so the files are ok i think..
please download it and see if the installer will run!

Well, I downloaded, installed on my Pismo powerbook running OS9.2.2, but no joy at all...

When I press "Setup hardware" on digidesign control panel, I consistently get a "Digidesign hardware is currently in use by another application".

When I try to launch PTLE 5.3.2, after the herd of annoying authorization screens, it consistently crashes with a type 3 error.

OMS setup crashes with error 1010.

I have been juggling all evening with extensions, but so far I have gotten nowhere. Drat.

PO: u are using it with a digi 002 console?
this version is only for use with that specific hardware unit.

if u are using it with a digi 002.. perhaps try it with a different firewire cable?

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Error_Message/DAE-1133

are u sure u uninstalled all previous digidesign installs before installing?

are u sure u dont have the ASIO or WAVE driver installed for using the digi 002 with cubase / logic / live or other ASIO apps? (which would take control of the device leaving it unavailable to pro tools)

maybe try this old faq
http://weblessons.us/music/studiodocs/Pro%20Tools/Digidesign_FAQ.pdf
dated 2004

did u follow the proper procedure for starting up the computer?
Quote
Recommended Boot-Up Sequence For Digi 002 Systems
Boot up the Digi 002 LE system, as follows:
1  Begin with computer and all FireWire devices powered-off.
2  Connect FireWire drive(s) to the computer.
3  Connect Digi 002 to FireWire drive(s) or to second FireWire port on the computer.
4  Power on the computer.
5  Once the computer is up, turn on the FireWire drives.
6  Once drives mount, power up Digi 002 -- http://archive.digidesign.com/support/readme/Pro_Tools_LE_5.3.2%20Read_Me.pdf

this might be it:
Quote
FireWire 2.5 and 2.4 Extensions
Digi 002 requires v.2.5 of the Apple FireWire extensions found in Mac OS 9.2.2 North American Edition. At the time of shipment, some non-English versions Mac OS 9.2.2 include v.2.4 of the Apple FireWire extensions. For Digi 002 to work, v.2.5 of the FireWire Extensions must be installed. You can download v.2.5 of the FireWire extensions at www.info.apple.com/support/downloads.html

that url is bad so use this: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1253?locale=en_US
