New guy here.
I purchased a PCI USB card marketed under the name PC Concepts. The eBay listing said "2 Port USB PCI Adapter Card For Apple PowerMac G3 / G4 / G5 *OS 9 Windows 95 486" Note the * next to OS9.
I want to put this into a G4, and the box documentation says for mac, download the driver from Apple :-| Does anyone know what drive this would be for OS9? Chipset says CMD 0670B-400.

the asterax probably refers to "only USB 1.1 under this OS".
USB and firewire via PCI should be part of MacOS since 8.6, so i would simply try it without.

Maybe need these on 8.6:

Nope, OS9 does not see the card.

Thanks, I checked that out and is said not needed for os9 so I didn't download it.

What does the system info say? Is it not seeing the card at all, or is it there but not active? I don't think these things require drivers.

There was a discussion one year ago about USB PCI Cards in a G4 MDD; it's here :

I wrote that the most important features it must have are : USB 2.0 PCI 32 bit version 2.2 and controller chip NEC.
Unfortunately it seems that your card is missing the controller chip NEC and it's not USB 2.0 32 bit.
I would suggest you to return it and buy one with these features. You can find it at Amazon for $ 10-15.
