Title: Throwing an opinion out
Post by: HBlaine on December 01, 2012, 04:59:32 PM
OK, opening the can of worms...  ;)

I've only been a Mac user for a few years now, have switched over from the "dark side"...  My introduction to Mac was Tiger on an old 15" G4 AlBook.  Well, sort of...  I actually started out downloading abandonware productivity software from Mac Garden, and running it under Classic.

The opinion is:  OS 9 (and older classic systems) always feel more...creative to me.  OS X is what I use for work stuff.  OS 9 (etc.) is what I use for creative writing, personal stuff, etc.

I know this is kind of odd, but...   :o  Anyone else feel this way?

I've felt the same :). In fact, I'm getting a Macintosh PowerBook 520c to do music composition (Hopefully) and writing.

Cool choice!   ;)

The very first Powerbook I put my hands on was a 500 series, back when I was in grad school.  I couldn't hope to afford one then, but...  I could definitely drool...

I've got a 520c and a 540c in the collection, and so wish I could get some working batteries!  I'd love to be able to take them out on the road with me!

Good luck with the work!

...I use and I have used several operating systems, for internet navigation, video watching, hearing music etc, all do it well, some even better. But for art and creation, lets say, graphics, music or what ever you want, the classic Mac Os is the best.
Even running in low hardware power for today standars, the simplicity of the classic Mac Os and some unique features makes this computers unsurpassed.
