Title: Curious question concerning the white XSKey.
Post by: CurtisC on January 29, 2019, 06:30:03 PM
Luck smiled upon me this month: I’ve acquired 2 of the white XSKeys for Logic 7 Pro.

A thought entered my head, and now it won’t go away.

Forgive me of my ignorance here:

Is there any possible way to make a hardware or software clone of one of these dongles?

I ask because these devices are becoming more rare as time goes on, and it would be nice to allow other vintage Mac enthusiasts the ability to run Logic 7 (and Logic 6 for us Mac OS 9 people).

If it’s not possible, could you please explain why?

Certainly, just tricky and time consuming. And the people who have the device aren’t always the people who can crack the software.

i have one of them and i certainly wont be cracking mine open anytime soon so if u have an extra one to "Donate to the cause" and have the ability to find someone technically skilled enough to pull that off, then godspeed!!!!!  ;D i would think it would be possible for the right person
i mean what else could be inside the white plastic? but a couple of flashrom chips stuck on a usb? maybe some type of circuit?? id be very curious to know
