Wow. DieHard, Mactron, Mat, Knez  and devils_advisor are PURIST 
If in their setups having OS9 and X in the same partition gives problems to them I can't blame them for choosing not to use OSX and have a pure 8.x 9.x config. This keep them focused on music or alike they do.
In my setup with different hard drives in every boot I choose a different DAW flavor for the job's needs. Because almost every cat has one or two good DAWs (Jaguar, Panther:Protools6; Tiger has lots of video converters/editors software and Leo even more). Some files I need to convert on tiger. Some websites only let you download things with modern browser (I know and appreciate classilla).
   
DieHard, Mactron, Mat, Knez  and devils_advisor  had choose to run MacOS9, others choose MacOSX and Chris and me had choose both.  He goes beyond talking about ANY DAW (1995-2005 I think)
 
Been retroDAW and obsolete both OS9 and OSX on powerpc, why not have some post and uploads from contributors of MacOSX (and Win x86) DAW abandonware software?  It can benefit any OS9 DAW to have a x86 DAW/OSX aside. And having all this resources centralized.
Been a purist is harder to run x86 keygens in virtualPC while having a pc just for keygens in a DAW environment takes sense too! Gigasampler is the software we wanted to run just because was only x86. Why not have a dedicated x86 or PowerMac  virtual instrument/sampler at the will of our beloved OS9?

Hey Protools... I'm only a purist on My PPC G4s... OS X doesn't touch them; My Intel Macs all run Snow Leopard (and 1 on Mountain lion), they run all My OS X needs.  I have setup every version of OS X (and server versions) for clients, but it's just my own personal preference to keep the G4 stuff frozen in time on what they run fastest with... OS 9... The Mac Pro 8 cores have no trouble with running Logic Pro 9 (with all 64 bit Plugs).  At that level, the native stuff actually sounds just as good (if not better) than the UAD stuff... I spent 2 weeks beta testing a UAD2 and A / B mixes and individual tracks.

Logic on OS9 benefits for dual processors. Protools 5 LE don't. Protools 6 LE had another plugs colection and enjoys the Sony Oxford and the dual proc(it still uses only 1 but let you reach 99% cpu usage).
For Logic I prefer OS9, but protools 5/6 smackdown is amazing

You should LOVE Protools 9HD native (more powerful in a Q6600 than a HD5) and my PRO friends in Madrid LOVE Protools 10/11 HDX

I came because I can dual boot. I miss the days of a speedy Finder UI. As for opening up to other OSes, not my call. I will say that OS 9 is fast, flexible (can run old apps) and I like the fact that nobody is targeting it for bad purposes. I finally found a site that isn't full of Window users and their unwarranted bias. Too many times I stumble upon a website that claims to be geared toward Apple only to discover it is not. I like OS 9, never had a problem with the software.

We should focus on Os9, but the hardware we have (PowerMacs with professional pci $$$ hardware) make my heart divided on how good is Logic 5 and 6 and Protools 5 with Os9 and how good it goes in OsX same equipment. It is simply different and equally good (with less performance in OsX sometimes). I have differents RTAS/VST in Os9 that on OsX and mixes sounds different and I have my sound oppinion on LE system. I think here is the only forum where we can talk about it and about pirated plugs without been banned.

We should welcome any Os9 non DAW users to create "Wikis" based on ImageManipulation, Video, Office based on any "macintosh garden" Os9 software and workflows. Final cut pro 3, Adobe Ps and Premiere, Macromedia, ... the list of productive software is HUGE.

The red line is talking about WinXP DAWs? Windows Logic v5 (w9x or Xp) users were the first "left behind" users at the will of Steve Jobs. Later he killed Os9. And PowerPC in 2005 too. It is pure empathy    No Logic6 on PC, no MacOS9.2.3 and no G6. Jobs was our enemy!        
The foundation of DieHard and Chris work on Os9DAWs will make LOTS of mixed environment DAWs users with time as LowEndMac breathed some air to PowerPC users some years ago. It is better that we allow that talk and post here but in a different childboard that have ChrisNova heart and mine divided with MacOs9Lives and a posible PowerPCMacOsXDAWLives/MacintoshGarden/Macrumors/68kLiberation  spin-off .
