Rewire1=Audio only
Rewire2=Audio + MIDI and more channels
as the chart shows... mac cubase 5.1 is rewire1 and pc cubase 5.1 is rewire2..
anyone else have any info on this? is cubase 5.2 perhaps rewire 2 capable?
is there any other way to achieve rewire2 compatibility with cubase on mac os 9 is the question..
nuendo 1.5 is rewire2...
logic6 is rewire2..
this means you cant send midi from the mixer app (host)(ie: cubase) to the synth app (slave)(ie: reason)
but this is possible using any rewire 2 capable host (such as ableton live, logic 6, nuendo 1.5,arturia storm, )

Excellent Chart... explains a few things for me... Nuendo was so buggy, but rewire did not crash

its from the props site via web.archive.org
theres an even more updated version i went as high as i could go but then they changed the website + changed urls
but i was able to track down the newer url after some fiddling around
2008 version

the rest of the charts from dif times are on my post here:

interestingly refuse by leigh marble is listed as a rewire 2 applications
Refuse Software reFuse ReWire 2 Mixer application
we all know this app's sole purpose is for use with pro tools 5.x
also i think its an oversite but they stop including info re cubase 5.0* after 5.1 is released
http://web.archive.org/web/20010808135801/http://www.propellerheads.se/products/rewire/products.html
this page includes it still - keeping in the poor tradition of new info obfuscating the old info :(

all this info was in :

what do u mean it was buggy? i never had that problem.. i only used it to work on a few tracks maybe 2-3 days total
but i never had any problems and i thought it was pretty rock solid
not that im eager to be put in a position of finding out first hand:D hah

interesting to note arturia storm supports rewire 2 when even cubase 5.1 on mac did not!!
Rewire1=Audio only
Rewire2=Audio + MIDI and more channels
the info above is dated dec 2003
did they ever change that? did cubase 5.1 on mac ever get updated to be rewire 2 aswell?
