Title: USB-MIDI drivers?
Post by: keyreel on December 28, 2016, 04:46:23 PM
generic cable. don't even remember where I bought it. Any chance to make it work on Powerbook G3?
Another chance is to buy serial cable and put it to the roland directly, but that port is already taken by another computer.

Wow… Welcome keyreel.

Maybe it's me? No. it's not me…
You have, with only two lines of text, stolen the 2015 record for the most incomprehensible post on the Forum.

I'm hoping that there was more information and it just disappeared somehow without you noticing.

Try again.

GaryN,

I nominate your above post for "Most Excellent Reply to Most Incomprehensible Post" for  2016! If that isn't a thing, it should be. ;D

Now I'm curious, just what is this 2015 record for the most incomprehensible post on the Forum that you mentioned above?

I'm looking for driver for USB-MIDI cable. It doesn't work out of the pocket on Powerbook G3 with Mac OS 9.2.2 (Works in 10.2.8 without any problem)
It tried to download drivers form internet, but I think all that option is broken long time ago and doesn't work how it supposed to be.
Any ideas?

I'm not sure what do you mean by 2015 record?  :)

I don't know what you mean "USB-MIDI Cable".
I'm guessing that English is not your first language so we need to define some words.

Do you mean "USB to MIDI converter"? If yes, What name and model?
By "out of the pocket" do you mean "out of the box"?

Very few USB-to-MIDI devices exist that will work in OS9. Modern, new cables for USB/MIDI will not work.

Never mind what I said about 2015. It was silly. I was noting that your first post made no sense to me because it seemed to be  missing much of the message - like half had been deleted.

Please provide as much information as you can about what equipment you use and what you want to do.
