I am guessing you are you going to use the bad drive for target practice from the looks of your tools

Here today's data recovery jobs, with 9mm is case it gets dangerous.

Hehehe...

Perhaps you missed my earlier query concerning certain DAW gear?

maximouse? discman? 9mm? sticky fingers? where are we here?

"sticky fingers" is an old note modulation algorithm of mine. i recently found out that the words already have a meaning in music. :)

Anyone actually seen or heard of a drive shattering? I've only heard of this but it was a really long time ago. Had a shop teacher who was also an IT guy. I remember him passing a platter around explaining the inner workings before we started our welding class. I always thought he was full of shit. Then again I was too busy nabbing all the DDR chips when his back was turned. None of the computers would boot for a couple days lol.

Back when the Dual MDD 1.25 was introduced, I asked my techy Hungarian pal about the quality of the IBM drive (made in Hungary) in it. He told me, "You're going to trust a bunch of guys suckling down Schnapps all day? That drive WILL grenade on you!" Mine didn't, but I guess his did.

My eMac 1.42 USB 2 machine. Added an Airport Extreme card and will (as soon as I finish typing this) put in a new drive in it of 1 TB. With the SATA-IDE converter of course.

My husband will come home and ask me what I did today, until he sees the eMac disassembled. Then it will be "So I guess dinner tonight is 'fend for yourself' or are we having a Subway night."
