Ploytec sent me this one for free some years ago.
I just hooked it up for my daughters blue bondi iMac (Mac OS 9.1) , Logic 6.4.3 and an MBox (1) and it's working great.
-
Thanks! Maybe it can make Asio or direct I/O with my behringer usb soundcard.
What adjustments you had made on logic to choose the m-box, direct-I/O or Asio?
Can you tell me something about the performance ( number of tracks/ plugs) of that iMac?
I have a PM B&W @450. Can you record with this setup? Or it has too much latency?

Hi
I am using that driver too for my ESI Waveterminal U24. Just load the driver and all is pretty clear to understand. Most important is the AISO menu. Choose a speed/buffer setting that matches your audiocard performance. I've used the driver on my Imac G3, 500mhz and my G4's. Typical latency is about 9ms. The number of tracks you can use largely depend on your G3/G4 performance. I've used up to 32 tracks without a problem on both my G3 and G4's. (G3 without VSTi/plugins)

Yep works with a lot of cards. ESI comes standard with Ploytec drivers.
Take a look: http://www.usb-audio.com/download.html
There you'll find the free OS9 driver too......

wow support for the alesis multimix mixers is pretty intense!

this would be a pretty intense little device to have working under os 9!!
they are fairly affordable too! for what u get its a pretty insane deal!
10-direct outputs to your computer for recording and 2 return inputs for monitoring
it cant possibly provide 10 discreet inputs to the computer on os 9 with this driver tho? can it?? :o
but maybe it can! because some of the other interfaces seem to more mutlichannerl aswell! wow!

Hi Chris,
I think the commercial version only supports the Alesis. It is not stated that free version does.....I would ask first before buying the Alesis. ::) Just to be sure....Would be nice though!

actually it looks like they dont offer a commercial version of the os9 driver at all. thats my understanding... i think we would have to inquire as to a full list ofcompatible devices under 9??
i realized this after looking at : http://www.usb-audio.com/links.html and seeing many osx only non compatible w/ 9 interfaces listed here
Please send a plain description of your problem (including OS, computer specs, software, hardware, etc.) to [email protected]. We'll do our best to work things out.

i wish this driver could work for something like this:o
mac os x tiger+ only i think
dunno why tascam discontinued it so fast i cant even find one

I wonder if this driver would work for the RME babyface?

I can definitely record and playback. But I did not test it on heavy load performances yet.

just a reminder if u are using this with digidesign mbox 1 -
Error Message: "Could not be loaded" / "No ASIO driver" / "Out of memory" / "At least two audiochannels needed"
The USB driver had not been loaded properly. Try plugging the interface after the boot process.
Win: If this doesn't help: Install the driver again. Extigy: disconnect Extigy from the power supply for a few seconds before restarting the computer after installation.
Mac: You can check if the driver's loaded using "About this Mac" / Software - Extensions. The "PGUSBAudio" extension has to be visible.
If you're using Digidesign's Mbox disable the Digidesign USB extension in order to use the USB ASIO driver.
u must disable the digi usb extension that pro tools uses or the driver wont work
do this by going into apple menu > control panels > extensions manager > scroll till u see digidesign usb and uncheck it

does this have anything to do with this?
https://www.macworld.com/article/1006509/asio.html
when i did a search for this name "Propagamma" it came up with the result site: https://www.usb-audio.com/ so my first thought was this was an earlier name before they used ploytec? or is it unrelated?

Propgamma also sells the driver for use with other audio interfaces for €60.
