The iching CD I have is different. It is an interactive program where one tosses the Chinese coins while sitting at the edge of a divining pool inside a cave with coy swimming around. Interpretation of the coins with beautiful graphics are read to the user by a female voice. It's very cool. I used to have my old g3 iMac setup just for the iching. Now it's in storage because I don't have room for it. I'm going to go see if I can find it. I hope it's inside the iMac optical drive. I will also get myself set up with media fire and see how that system works. I hope upload...

Here is the apple script code for toggling between visible and invisible files. Tested in Panther (Mac OS 10.3).

Copy entire code below and paste it into a new apple script window and then "Save As" Application" It works great.

display dialog "Set the visibility of hidden files..." buttons {"Cancel", "Visible", "Invisible"} default button 1
copy the result as list to {buttonpressed}
if the buttonpressed is "Invisible" then
      try
      tell application "Finder" to quit
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles OFF"
      delay 1
      tell application "Finder" to activate
   end try
else if the buttonpressed is "Visible" then
   try
      tell application "Finder" to quit
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles ON"
      delay 1
      tell application "Finder" to activate
   end try
end if

This procedure is intended for Waves 4.x. You have to figure out by yourself If this work or not with Waves 2.8.
Anyway, I recommend you to use the 3.2 version that it's available here:

http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,1159.msg4435.html#msg4435

and don't need the resetting procedure ;)

I had tried the vst wrapper several years ago and worked fine for me. I don't know what kind of issue you have. But anyway, if you need VST stuff please use Cubase, and forget about this "solutions"  (the waveshell and the wrapper ) because it adds extra complexity to the working enviroment and it lead to stability problems in to the near future.

Resetting the iLok time demo, the easy way:

1- Install iLok 5.05 (attached)
2- Drag and drop your startup HD to the "Make all visible" app. (attached)
3- Run the scrip "iLok 5.05 Time ResetScript" (attached)
4- Reboot your computer.

Perform steps 2 to 4 each time the demo expires.

This was successfully tested with Waves 4, I guest it should work with other iLok time demos, ( SonyOxford stuff and Antares Filter ... ) as far as they work with iLok engine 5.0.5  ;)

Hi Guys! Im new on this community, I came here specifically because this post. Im interested in trying this method, but my problem is that I cant find the "attached files". Am I too dumb or these files aren't attached?

Thanks in advance!

It is normal behaviour. Until you write a post, you cant see attached files,

i cant figure out why, but the "make all visible" part of the process doesnt show up as an application nor can I drag/drop my HD onto it.

has anyone run into this?
any thoughts anyone?

solved, somehow;  I renamed “make all visible” with an hqx file extension, a stuffit window popped up, then I found myself able to drag my HD to the “make all visible” file.  Now my HD is being scanned and it’s showing all those “_(filename)” files that we can’t ever get rid of.  :-)

maybe someone will be able to explain how what I did works
