Title: interest level for a Pro Tools Free "ASR/Instant Install" Image?
Post by: macStuff on December 15, 2019, 02:31:15 PM
wondering how many people would be interested in a ASR image for Pro Tools Free (ie: instant DAW with all plugins)
similar to the diehard cubase version; but with RTAS plugins

many want it, but I'm afraid I would have to be more stable with the supplements more than it is.  -afro-

(i can only see the topic, but) ...something like that is not required, because there are no disk releated protection schemes. just can just copy your protools over to another machine.

It seems something like that would be quite handy for someone looking to check out PT without having to acquire PT specific hardware (that would be needed for LE/ TDM systems).... ASR with a bunch of working plugs would be a quick and easy way to get up and running!

I think it would be a worthy endeavor and I, for one, would make use out of it!😁

I recently tried an ASR of my PT system drive but haven't been able to get it working properly. Will reinvestigate after the holidays.

the cubase ASR image has been made in order to include authorisation files, which saves you some 45 minutes of work compared to a manual install.

in all other cases it is far less work to just copy files and folders.

therse a learning curve;
as long as 110 is pointing out everything bad ive ever done, might as well also make the point that, we wouldnt have the ASR program if it wasnt for me, i was the one who was given it from a software developer, the software was for "apple developers only" and was never released to the public.
