Title: Trouble printing DocMaker file
Post by: Bolkonskij on April 02, 2018, 05:30:43 AM
Hey guys,

ran into a dead end with this old issue of Inside Mac Games. It came in DocMaker format. I want to print it out. However, upon clicking on the "print" command in the menu bar, it just issues a "bing" sound (as if an error) and nothing ever happens. No dialog window. No feedback as to what is wrong. I do have a postscript printer and I am successfully printing from this machine. My config: eMac 700 Mhz, OS 9.2.2, 1 GB RAM

I wonder if there is some kind of "printing protection" on this DocMaker file? What else could cause the problem?

Like I said, I can print Word documents just fine.

Any helpful ideas / suggestions really appreciated!

Can you “select-copy-paste” into another program?
Maybe TeachText, TextEdit, Word, etcetera?
Or screen capture, crop and then print?

Off-the-cuff, from-the-hip possibilities without digging
up the old DocMaker program here. Good luck.

Anyone else care to assist?

Fury, unfortunately I cannot select-copy-paste it somewhere else. Screencapture would be possible, but it gets a bit tedious after 20+ pages :)

Clearly, there must be a way to print it out. I can't be the first one with this problem.  :-X

I also wonder about an install/re-install from:
http://www.mac.org/utilities/docmaker/

How many years ago was that? ???

DOCMaker 4.8.3 is less than half a meg, and attached.

I didn't see the original post, so not sure if this is what is wanted. Hope it helps.
