Hi guys,
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I've been unable to download anything from either my Mac OS 9 or Windows machine. I always get the error:
might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
are the files gone?

Hi, I'm having the same issue – cannot download any files from the Download Boards. I can access the Godaddy workspace but when I try to download the files I get an error in Chrome (and just nothing in Safari):
The webpage at https://cache.os.cloudstorage.secureserver.net/obj/QzUyMkFFQTlGQTZBOEE1MDdENkY6MDQ5NzY3YmY2M2E4YTBhNDNjYTY0NGRkZWIxNjYyODM6MTYwNDcyMjc4MTpoQkhzbkExUk5rdFk5MkI0Z0ZPQnhVVlN0ZDQlM0Q6OkF0aVJhZGVvbk1hY09zOUp1bDIwMDUuc2l0
might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
I have pop-ups off in my browser.

Same results here with Safari & Chrome for that address.
What exact file(s) are you trying to download (from here)?
The webpage address you noted doesn't look familiar(?) for files from here.

Hi, I've had a similar error for the few different links I tried to download. I've had no success on any so far.
Attached are a couple of screens when I tried to download Mac OS 9.2.1 from the following path:
DOWNLOAD BOARDS - (Members Get Full Access, Public Access is Limited) » Mac OS 7, 8, & 9 Install Images » Mac OS 9.2.1 (Universal Install) - Toast CD Image
Cheers

Okay, Chrome didn't work. I'll log back in with Safari.
-
Safari is working. I just double-clicked on the icon and the download began (for OS 9.2.1).
-
Curiouser... for me in Safari nothing happens when I double click or control-click/download. I turned off Sophos and any pop-up blockers or other settings that could be an issue. There was a gap between signing up and posting first post, but I doubt that was a factor.
Maybe I'll clear my cache...

Clearing history in Safari didn't fix it. It's the latest Safari Version 14.0 (15610.1.28.1.9, 15610)
Thanks for checking!

Anyone else having download problems (or no DL) with Safari 14.0 here on the Forum?
(I assume… under Catalina and/or Mojave.)
My VooDoo-inclined, superstition-tinged & conspiracy-leaning thought processes
doth wonder if Apple again is possibly knee-capping the masses from “retro
compatibility” or otherwise suitable digital discourse?
Apple just did attempt to force upgrade the iOS on my phone, again!
Remember the sluggish performance experienced by many after the last major iOS
upgrade that corresponded closely with the last new iPhone offering… that led many
to purchase the new iPhones (after Apple explained that the built-in performance
slowdown was only “for our phone’s aging batteries”)?
Ooooh, “deprecated”. ???

Whole TLS is to make all older system old and people to buy new devices.” -teroyk
*I’m not a complete and total Luddite but I’d advise maybe utilizing an older machine
AND an earlier version of Safari, TenFour Fox, etc.

yep, happens on a weekly basis.

Older system OS works!
Thanks FBz and Die Hard – your suspicion about older Safari 14 or Catalina/Mojave looks to be an issue. Below is what system and browsers worked for me and what didn't for those looking for a way to download files...
Worked for me:
- Mac Mini 2012 with Sierra 10.12.6
- Safari 11.1.2
- Chrome 86.0.4240.183 (official build x86_64) Interestingly, this version doesn't work in Catalina
Didn't work for me:
My macbook pro running Catalina and Safari 14 or Chrome did not work although the same version of Chrome worked on older system, maybe the OS is the culprit?
Thanks!
