Title: Forum slowness and Speed issues

As many of you have noticed the forum speed has decreased to a crawl since COVID and I am told by many hosting companies that COVID sparked a new level of cyber criminal want-a-bees.

We average over 150 guests at any moment, I am going to turn off guest viewing for a while and see if this helps, I fear many "guests" are hackers tying to spam and collect content for malware google hits to their junk sites

Actually, it is slowish from where I log in. Sometimes I hit page reload and wait and wait and wait..

Confirmed. Would not allow viewing as guest. Had to log in.

Normally one every 15 hits I do on our forum is slow. When I see it I just reload and it goes quick again.

I get a 400/403 error sometimes, usually cured by a reload, but no persistent issues.

I will turn on "guest" a few days a month to allow web crawlers/ search engines

Hello good forum people!
Just had to login to see what was going on, being mostly a forum reader rather than posting, but I noticed it was asking to log in just to access the site.  I guess I found some answers here.
Was wondering if the site had been hacked or hassled.

Interestingly, I also frequently read macintoshgarden.org and that site is down/not responding.  I thought it was strange that both sites are experiencing issues.  One of the mainstays here is active over there if I recall, are they having similar issues?

no new subscriptions are possible now. somebody just asked me why there is no mail coming.^^
