EMAGIC LOGIC AUDIO
Logic Audio is the best-selling Macintosh MIDI + Audio sequencer throughout Europe, and is a favourite of many of the recording elite (for example programmer extraordinaire Pete Gleadall, interviewed in SOS December '96). Logic Audio v2.5 for Windows 95 entered the market in summer 1996, and the latest version (2.5.3) costs £399. The recently-released Logic Audio Discovery (£269) is essentially the same as version 2.5.3, but has fewer score and time/pitch compression-expansion facilities.

NEWS: LOGIC AUDIO DISCOVERY 2.0 BRINGS REAL-TIME DSP TO YOUR DESKTOP Back
By HCNews | October 11, 1997
Emagic, the award winning European based software and hardware developer is proud to announce the Imminent release of Logic Audio Discovery version 2.0 for MacOS and Windows 95. Version 2.0 will be a significant release for Emagic, considering the addition of real-time DSP for both Windows 95 and MacOS computers all at an entry level price point.
New and most significant to this release is the addition of real-time CPU based DSP Such as: reverb, chorus, delay and various EQs. All DSP effects have various mono, mono to stereo and full stereo settings. In addition to the CPU based DSP, Emagic adds 2-4 (CPU dependent) "plug-in" style Inserts, and sends per track, routable to up to 4 independent busses.
Logic Audio Discovery supports up to sixteen tracks with Audiowerk8, up to 8 tracks with Digidesign's Audiomedia III, up to 16 tracks with Apple's SoundManger and up to 16 tracks with any MME supported Windows audio card. Logic Audio Discovery does not include simultaneous hardware support.
Derived from some of the best features in Logic Audio 3.0, including real-time DSP, 960 PPQ timing engine, real-time editing and integrated score and printout, Logic Audio Discovery i's becoming one of Emagic's most popular priced cross platform solutions.
Availability and Price Logic Audio Discovery 2.0 update will be available in October of 1997.

it was their version of "Cubasis" i guess
which follows suit with how steinberg, after a few years of this product being out, gave cubasis away for free..
and emagic did the same thing later on, except the lite version was called "logic delta" bundled with the delta cards
and "logic vs" with the roland Vs. etc etc
ok i thought i had "discovered" something worth sharing.. clearly not..
i will shut up;)

Just for the record: The FULL logic 3.x ( may be up to LA Platinum 3.1 or 3.2 for 68k or PPC) can be used with a crack, ie : without real or emulated dongle, nor any other authorization method.
