The .sit.bin files are meant to be uncompressed on Mac OS 9. That is the way to avoid stripped fork.

Do your PowerBook boot  Mac OS 9 natively? Running classic from inside Mac OS X have almost zero interest for us interested on DAWs

Do you have an XsKey from eMagic? If you haven't you should use the 4.81 version: Or micrologic version or the Platinum version with the Dongle Emulator.

If your powerbook is running 10.5.8 is probably an ALU PB and can't easily boot 9. If it is a TI PB (Titanium, the one with the white edges) go for this http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=3023.msg19332#msg19332 (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=3023.msg19332#msg19332)
