Title: Ilock software for mac os9
Post by: truitecuite on April 05, 2017, 02:00:29 AM
Hi,

Searching for Ilock software on mac os9.

Is it possible to have an Ilock key made with Mac os 10.6 which would work on a OS9 system. I'm using protools Le 5.2.1.

Not quite sure what the question is but I believe you can have authorizations for OS 9 and OS X on the same iLok if that's what you mean??   ;D

I need the Ilock software for mac os9. Iguess it is ilok 5.05.

I looked in the download section but didn't find it.

To be a litte bit more clear, i'm searching for ilok drivers. These doesn't seem to be available on the Pace website.

Pace refused to make the legacy drivers available...

Very helpful at this stage in my project.

Thanks!

The interlok 5.05 works just fine in mac os9. It recognizes the key on the Ilok. But, in the process of authorization as I open pt 5.2.1, Internet explorer is opened to a page (http://www.paceap.com/ilwebdnld4.html) and I believe it is to get an installer called licence support.

I'm trying to get a Sonnox eq to work with a legit licence on mac os9.

Sonnox sent me a licence and an installer. But Pace is of no help here.

Sonnox sent me a licence and an installer.

Are you saying that Sonnox recently sent you an authorization for OS 9 use?? If so, that is great!

So you've installed the Sonnox eq onto your mac... you currently have a PACE account... the Sonnox authorization is in your ilok account ... you've used 'Ilok manager' to put the authorization onto your Ilok BUT when you launch PT it is still trying to authorize???

It doesn't sound like the authorization made it's way onto the Ilok?

Can you see that the authorization is there in your Ilok account when using 'Ilok manager'??

I'm curious about the installer that Sonnox sent you... Are you trying to use a 'New' OS X version on your OS 9 install or did they actually send you the 'Sony' OS 9 installer??

You installed the EQ while booted to OS 9 and got the "installation successful" message??

I guess I'm surprised if Sonnox is actually acknowledging OS 9 as all I could get out of them was that it's obsolete and unsupported! ;D ;D

Yes. They sent me an authorization key. The key works on PT5.2.1, but there are some missing files that are needed. They are called "licence support".

This is a tryout. If it works, Sonnox will provide the working software on PT LE, at the same rates as the newer ones. I'm looking for Oxford eq and dynamics processor.

the pace installer is not coming with the sony stuff?

i mean it is great that they still sell this stuff - but then they should also make sure that it works. :)

The Ilok came from Pace, as well as the Interlok drivers. But there were also files to be dowloaded from Pace. These are called "licence support". Elusive ones...

There are a few guys here that have working (iLok) sony plugs on OS 9... maybe they could poke around for these mysterious files! I looked on my sony installer cd that I have but didn't find anything there yet. Maybe its something associated with an older version of the PACE iLok manager (or whatever it was called).

We need to figure this out!!! :o

Didn't see anything specifically for panther but this one say "Tiger or BELOW"... hoping 'below' includes OS 9!! It does say 'Mac OS X extension installer' though so I'm not holding my breath!

For Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or below   Legacy InterLok Mac OS X extensions installer

This would have been very sweet from Pace. But, this file doesn't open in mac os9... Still searching. The Ilok extension installer 5.05 that was linked by DieHard works. It is the "licence support files installer" that is the missing link.

Finding this one leads to being able to get software from Sonnox. Transparency and precision.

I have Interlok 4.1.5 (2003) installed on 9.2.2 I would give you a copy if someone can tell me what all I need to copy out of my machine to give to you. If I remember correctly this was bundled in the waves 4 installer package (which I never got to work right) that I tried to install a couple years ago.

I sure would be willing to try it. But we have to find out what files were installed by the "licence support files installer".

Thanks to try to solve this.

Sure but like I said, if someone here can tell what I need to copy out of OS9 to post here I will do that for you. It is possible that installer is on this machine someplace, I think it was bundled with waves 4 but I am not sure yet.

Check the date in your HD when you installed Waves 4 to check.

Normally is something on Extensions folder, but better ask IIO or MacTron about what files were needed. I think all those files were covered on a sticky post.

Check http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,2784.0.html (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,2784.0.html) and http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,1085.0.html (http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php/topic,1085.0.html)

Try turning all your extensions back on if you had a stripped down set.

I had the same symptoms with Interlok 5.0.5 and it was prompting to download software.  All I did was turn all my extensions back on and the iLok funtions normally.

Not sure yet which extension it is that it depends on.

Make sure you have URL Access turn on in Extensions Manager.

Thanks, But it would still need to authorize the Ilock with a UAD key generation server that has not existed for at least 12 years.

12 years? your information is incorrect
the uad-1 auth server ceased to function on december 31st 2013 (4 years ago)

tiger or below means osx 10.4, 10.3, 10.2, 10.1 etc
it would NOT include os9 as os9 is not a lower version of osx,
its not even a directly related development wise.. as we all know
osx has its origin in NEXT + Unix systems..

anyway, lets not get carried away with 'wishful thinking'  ;D
