Title: Steinberg MIDEX 3 driver for OS9
Post by: Silver on February 27, 2016, 03:34:02 PM
Does anyone have the "old" Steinberg Midex3 driver for OS9? I just found the Midex8 driver on the Steinberg ftp (which does not work for the Midex3).
Can anyone help?

I think it should be on their ftp server
ftp://ftp.steinberg.net/Archives/Hardware/Midex_3/Mac/

Good luck

Thanks, but these drivers are OS X only. Does anyone have the original install CD?

A disk image for MIDEX 3 & MIDEX 8 OS9 drivers is available here:

I had had to burn the image to CD using Clone CD on a PC to access the Mac files.
(Disc is dual format - I couldn't see Mac data on PC).

Installed driver and confirmed working with OS9, OMS, Cubase VST 5.1 32.

MIDEX and VST 5.1 first Hardware/Software combination to implement Steinberg Linear Time Base (LTB) MIDI protocol.

Does this hint help for burning with Mac (Firestarter FX-link is dead, but it should be easy find elsewhere):

...I am not sure does Firestarter use also .sub file of CloneCD. Does somebody know?

EDIT: typo

A .SUB file is irrelevant, there are no subcodes on data CDROMs.
