Would be awesome if someone is sitting on the same DVD/Image as this guy is!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digidesign-DSP-Farm-card-Pro-Tools-TDM-5-1-3-and-6-4-software-for-Mac-G4-/121211580925?pt=US_Computer_Recording_Interfaces&hash=item1c38c5f1fd

Im tempted to buy the card just for the included software!

I have asked, and he didn't want to sell the DVD sepparatly, or upload the image somewhere.
Seems like he has pretty much every TDM plugin ever made. Probably going to buy it just to get to the software ;)

I know the cards fits the Gigabit Ethernet G4 and the MDD at least, so they should fit in all G4's :)

EDIT: I bought the card! Going to upload the plugins and TDM versions of Pro Tools to the Mac OS 9 Lives FTP if I get access to it.

Will probably be a shitload of awesome stuff on that DVD :)

Grab my backup with installed 5.1.3 and all avaible TDM plugins!

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7339868/os9backup.zip

installing is simple: under 10.3.9 - copy unzipped files to free HD for os 9. enjoy ;)

I only have 9.2.2 on my MDD, so I have some problems using the files inside your zip file.

Can you use Stuffit and stuff your DAE folder and your Digidesign folder? Located in Harddrive/System Folder/DAE and Harddrive/Digidesign.
It would be GREATLY appreciated :)

Thanks! :)

don't use zip because you most likely lose the resource fork and render the files unusable.

I have been sorting out all the plugins these past weeks. There are around 500 of them in total and ALOT of Digidesign related PDF's. I don't want to upload a whole archive and have people go threw what I did. Some plugins needs to be installed in a particular order, or they won't work (Waves for instant). So I have been testing them ALL out and .sited them individually instead of just having the whole plugins folder sitting in a .sit.

Now you know why this has taken some time. Hope everyone is ok with this.

Knez,
I sent you a pm to your inbox, I recently obtained an old Mix/24 system and I love it! I had a few questions about the optimal workings of the system and thought it best to contact you privately.

Thanks,

One mixing engineer prized with a grammy gave me a cd on 2004 of a backup from a MIX+++ PowerMac G3 beige with TDM plugs and I told him I had an Audiomedia III and I asked him the same question. Would them work? He just told me: "Try it, and you will be surprised " To my surprise a lot of them worked while others hang the system while loading. You can see the last plug loaded if it hangs on le systems. A reboot and one plug out to the desktop. After 20-30 boots I determined that a lot of McDSP worked, Realverb, and some more. The same setup with Digi001 give less(?) plugs to work... Arboretum, for example, work on AM3 but not on digi001 on same protoolsLe 5.1.1

But the most of the plugs have a (k) surname, so I think them all are pirated versions. Abandonware pirated material here?

We will consider all OS 9 Software (cracked or not) to be Abandon-ware... If we are contacted by publishers or authors of the software and they want it removed, we will, of course, comply.  Most of the download boards contain (non-cracked) software and that is what is preferred (from a  stability standpoint); however, if a non-cracked version is not available, then we will post the cracked version until it can be replaced with the original version (if that is possible)

Serial Number:
DIGI0510ac2200c8913c43ae

Tested and working!
The Pro Tools 5.1.3 TDM Disk image has been posted in the members only Downloads in the DAW section.

Note:
Use Disk Copy 6.4 to mount and install. ProTools requires OMS to be installed or it will not run
The first time you launch ProTools it will ask you to configure your Digi audio interface and make a OMS setup of your Midi devices. After you have done all that it will ask you for the Serial Number. No floppy authorizations are needed, just the serial number. This will allow you to setup a fresh system if your Mac or Hard Drive dies. Gentleman TDM rocks even on OS9 and still beats out any native interface when it comes to Latency.

Hardware needed:
1) D24 or Mix Core Card
2) At least one 882 or 888 or 1622 interface connected to the D24 or Mix Core card
3) A G3 or G4 Mac
4) Mix Farm or DSP II cards are optional but will require a TDM ribbon cable to connect to the D24 or Mix Core cards

As far as I know there is no vst to rtas wrapper. There are plugs (like waves) that can run as vst and as rtas.
For using vst in protools you should run a vst host and connect the outs of the vst-host to the ins of PT .
Some VST are compatible with direct connect, but for others that not , use the above method .

i would create a new thread for this....
and start by taking out the cards to see if it returns things to a functional state... and then introduce 1 card at a time..to isolate the cause

The best is to take out all pci cards for installing. Later you add pci cards one by one.
If you have blank screen, reset PRAM

I recently downloaded this and both WinRAR and the built in OSX 10.4 archive utility say that there is an error in the archive.  Has anyone actually tested this archive to see if it opens?

It would be very nice if Knex uploaded that DVD of plugins! It's almost cruel to talk about having them and the prospect of uploading them and then fall through with it at the last minute...  :'(

MacTron's 5.1 file seems to only include the stock TDM plugins from what I looked at.

Of course I will upload my OS9 stuff, but I am in the process of snapshooting them too as DieHard and Chris requested me. I thought the waters would be calmed with the recents uploads including that disk image.
I am testing them first from the perspective of an Protools Free user with my G3 450. I can tell you McDSP works on PTFree (filterbanks/compressorbanks/MC2000) and RealVerb too

Sorry I misunderstood. (It is a long post)  ;D
I want to make things right, as DieHard and ChrisNova want.
They want plugs with descriptions and snapshoots. As I said before I am testing them with the protools free perspective, for later add Digi001 compatibles, later Audiomedia III and finally TDM.
I had just shared with Chris my collection of plugs. Because I am very busy at the moment, he will share the plugs soon.
I feel sad about the small number of contributors compared to the number of users... I hope this will  change soon.

I bought a CD full of TDM, RTAS, and VSTs along with a few Pro Tools installers from eBay years ago.  I have no idea where this disc originated, but it contains a ton of plugins (some cracked), like Lexiverb and some Aphex plugins.  It also has versions of stuffit and toast, which are useful when restoring the floppy images of authorization disks (also included on the CD).

I currently only have a Pro Tools III system (waiting for the Mix Core card in the mail) and a G4 without a floppy drive so I am unable to test all the plugins to see if they work with the included authorization images.  I would be more than happy to upload an iso image of the disc, but I cannot guarantee that everything on it is functional.

I will upload this on the condition that other users embrace a willingness to share.  It is safe to say that there is no other way to obtain these obsolete plugins for the Pro Tools Mix platform.  You have to ask yourself, "When was the last time a professional in the recording industry bought a TDM plugin designed specifically to work with a PT Mix system?"  I'm very sure that answer can be given in terms of years if not decades.  The PT Mix has been succeeded by three generations of PT hardware and is no longer an industry standard.  Forums like this are not tailored to provide the top-of-line software that producers are paying $1,000s for, rather, they exist to provide resources for us enthusiasts with small budgets who simply want to utilize old hardware.  I see no moral wrongs being committed by sharing outmoded software.

Software is an art form.  It should be preserved as such.

What happens if the last CD or floppy authorization disk becomes corrupt and no one had shared the contents?  It is lost...FOREVER.  A great amount of artwork that had been destroyed in World War II only exists as photographs.  If a person wasn't aloud to photograph those paintings, they would be lost FOREVER.  Some musical works by great composers such as Bach only survive as copies.  I cannot imagine losing those works in time because of an unwillingness to share.  It is logical to conclude that more copies and wider distribution of those copies can insure the preservation of a work of art.  Software that has aged past its profitability and is no longer under the protection of a parent company is endangered.  I have a feeling that historians hundreds of years from now will look fondly upon forums of this type because of their integral role in preserving this volatile art form.

well spoken, Nubiusvision. sharing makes progress. and Bach actually fell into oblivion for a 100 years until re-discovered by Mendelssohn. history is a capricious bitch.

I found an interesting article by a software writer on the subject of abandonware from a programmers point of view. Unfortunately i can't seem to find it now or i would post a link.
in it he claims that he regularly downloads software that he himself created from abandonwear sites because its easier than trying to locate his original files. Many programmers support abandonware which is good for us. Others don't like the idea but cant be bothered to do anything about it and only a few are against it.
long live abandonware.

Hi!

I never intended to leave in the first place, but stuff happend that we shouldn't go into. Let the past be the past.

I have sorted out which plugins work and which doesn't. Will upload the whole package when I get home. My first though was posting every plugin individually, but it took too much of my time to get everything tested in the first place.

So there will be two .sit files. One with ALL the plugins unsorted and untested, and one with my current plugin folder im using under OS 9.2.2 and Pro Tools 5.1.3cs11.

Glad to be back :)

Well Said MacTron :)

Looks like we are all stuck with each other... Looks like were going to have the last laugh on all those people who thought OS 9 was a "ThowAway piece of garbage"

I think we all LOVE MacOS9. Let's avoid "collisions" and do "collaboration". The collaborations and shares can benefit all the community.

If every forum guest would bring here an AKAY CD'ROM sampler library, in ten months we could have the biggest library EVER made. Just saying...

Let´s join FORCES to make the MacOS9 what it was. The BEST O.S. for DAWs in the WORLD!

Well Said MacTron :)

Looks like we are all stuck with each other... Looks like were going to have the last laugh on all those people who thought OS 9 was a "ThowAway piece of garbage"

We are going to make OS9 the ULTIMATE DAW and this page HUGE!

You mean the os9backup.zip? It never worked since the .zip file destroyed all the files resource forks.

TDM and RTAS plugins are updated slowly but steady to the downloads section if you want to take a look over there :)

Grab my backup with installed 5.1.3 and all avaible TDM plugins!

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7339868/os9backup.zip

installing is simple: under 10.3.9 - copy unzipped files to free HD for os 9. enjoy ;)

its a shame this user used zip instead of stuffit .. if he used .sitx or .sit the files would be fine im guessing
i wonder if theres anyway to repair these files... even tho they have lost their creator/type codes + icons
i still have this file on my server 457mb worth

there must be alot of plugins if its 457mb .. protools itself isnt nowhere near that big?

The .sit archive of the installer I used to install Pro Tools on my system takes up 357mb of space on my backup harddrive. I think that guy just made a zip file of his System Folder. Unarchive it and look how big the plugin folder is :). The size will still be correct, even though the resource forks are messed up.

yes good idea..
shouldnt u be able to fix these files tho.. using filetype app?if u have aother plugins..
are there many different creator/type codes for protools plugs?

did u look? do u remember? im just curious.. but if it is his system folder. no wonder;) i thought it was 450mb of plugs lol

I did look, and I can't remeber that there where any new plugs in the folder that I didn't have. I think I would have written it down if there where any new ones. Almost all my plugins are on the server, If you want to have a look at them :)

I could try to fix them, but I think that they are lost. Will investigate if theres any new plugs compared to my plugin folder :)

i know its been ages but i just wanted to say that.. if its a zip. it was most likely compressed on mac os x somehow... and if u unarchive on mac os x the files can be retreived, but if u uncompress on mac os 9.. it all gets screwed up but thats because of stuffit on mac os 9 not extracting it properly.

it may be that this is not what he did, but .. its worth a shot..
but i think i even deleted the file so its a moot pt:)

I tried this already when I messed around with this. On 10.3, 10.4, 10.5 and 10.7.
Probably zipped using some Mac OS 9 application or third party OSX application.

Thank you so much! That's just how it is RIGHT to put on a clean os9? Just to throw in the folder "Applications"?

Not quite sure what you said... but when you download, unstuff the file and click on the installer it will create a folder and put things where they need to go.

is this a serious  offer ?

http://www.ebay.de/itm/262207052619

i remeber that the waves plugins need a hardware key (ADB port) for eg.

As far as PT 5.1.3... I don't thing there is anything that isn't around here. There is some older stuff that won't run on a 'mix' farm/ core card that MIGHT run on the older 'farm' cards...

SOOO... If you're running an older PT system it might be of interest but you could probably find the same stuff here or the garden for $125.00 less!!!

Open just DAE and select another setting.

Reboot.

Maybe something is trying to get to the rig. Look on sound on panels to use the onboard sound.

Hey guys!

I'm running 5.1.1 on OS9.2.2 - can anyone tell me where to find the newest Pro Tools updater that you're speaking of?  Also, where might these TDM [k] plugins be that everyone had back in the day?  I found a few on some old discs that still work - Echo Farm etc., but would love my entire old collection back if possible.

Thanks!
Sig
