The Forum server seems randomly very slow to respond lately.
-
Seems fine here. ;)
-
Seems a little slow for me too
-
Mainly, I mean it seems randomly reluctant to respond to input clicks and such rather than actually "slow" to render and such.
-
Considering the likely recent increase in demand on all servers - internet wide and with so many stay-at-home orders now in place and people watching cat videos… perhaps increased demand may have more effect upon certain locations, related to click-response time? Not so much traffic on the highways… yet more on ye olde data superhighway?
It’s a theory. / Mo’ traffic = slightly slower?
*But one could always send more monetary donations to the Forum. ;)
(meow)
Ping that server or maybe check your transfer rates?
-
That's probably it. I've been noticing slightly slower response times overall, so it's likely due to an increase in traffic.
-
wait... there's CAT videos????? ;D
-
A tad bit slower than usual here. But then we're all spoiled, are we? Just imagine you're on 14.4k modem again. Suddenly loading times are phenomenal :-D

That's fair ;)
Heck, I complain when I run out of high speed data on my phone and am reduced to 128kb/s. ::)

i started with 33k. downloading age of empires 1 took almost a week with that. :)

I'll RE-explain because no one seems to get what I'm saying…
It's NOT that the transfer(s) are slow… They're just fine.
What I'm experiencing is, for example:
I log on;
My Id & password fill in;
I click "login";
NOTHING happens other than the page showing a little "busy" indicator;
After a wait anywhere from 10 to 30+ seconds, suddenly login happens;
Everything's fine, for a while… then;
Randomly, maybe clicking on a post or something…another unexplained wait;
Then it's fine again;
Get it? No rhyme or reason or pattern to it… just random "slow to respond" behavior - the kind of stuff you see when a server's overloaded and starts to backup requests from too much traffic or something.
Does that clarify what I mean? If this is ONLY happening to me, then it may be my browser, though I doubt it because HERE is the only place I experience it. Is anybody else seeing this?

Yes, had similar issues 2 or 3 times in the last week.
It was like the server or my connection had stalled with just a fraction of the page loaded... caused me to check my router was still in sync and I restarted Netscape... issue seemed to go away after a few mins.
Fine tonight.

I experience this too, primarily when I'm loading or replying to threads
