Title: Books on Studio Vision?
Post by: Syntho on April 20, 2017, 07:34:48 PM
There are books on Logic and Pro Tools but I haven't found anything on anything Vision at all. I know we've got the manuals but I always find that good books on DAWs explain things a bit better.

Gary could write that book. But I guess the audience would be low, sadly.

Nice of you to say that. Thank you.

Actually, I think the Vision / StudioVision manual is one of the very best examples of product documentation I've ever seen. It took 6 people to write it and 2 more to double-check everything. It was, at the time, an amazing read. There seemed to be no end to the innovation and creative design baked into the software. Remember, all of the stuff that's taken for granted as "standard" today was brand-new and exciting back then. I still see so-called "new" features appearing in PT and such today that in fact existed in Opcode product then and have been forgotten over time.

I'm quite sure that if the product was still in production like Logic et al, there would be lots of third-party "tips and secrets" books about it too, but I doubt they could or would do a better job explaining it than the manuals do.
