It seems that Digidesign DIGI001 had ASIO drivers for MacOS8/9 at:
ftp://ftp.steinberg.net/Archives/MAC/Hardware/Drivers/
but how about DIGI002 (console not rack)?
btw. It easy to download OSX AU drivers version 7.0 for Tiger, but I know that there was also version 7.3 for Tiger and it seems that it is hard to find these days.
Now I only find this with death download link:
Standalone Digidesign CoreAudio Drivers v7.4.2 for Mac OS X 10.5.3 (Leopard)

So is DIGI002 only for Pro Tools 5 LE with Mac OS 9?
-
for windows the ASIO support incudes 002
http://archive.digidesign.com/download/asio/
of course this site is from 2006.
but i still dont think there was an ASIO driver for OS9 because there were also no plug-ins for the 002.
edit: german 002 manual does not even mention MacOS9 driver options.

For OS9 you need the DIGO002 'mixer' running PT5.3.2. ... as the 002R rack version only supports OS X.

Yes, but can I use it with any another software than PT5.3.2?
Logic? Cubase? Digital Performer? Sound Manager?

only with soundmanager. :)
oh, and the midi also works. partially.

control panels for macos9 can be downloaded here:
http://archive.digidesign.com/download/sndrvr/
http://archive.digidesign.com/support/readme/Digidesign_CDEV_ReadMe.html
The Digidesign® Control Panel provides sound output for Apple's Sound Manager via Digidesign's hardware outputs. These drivers are used to route non-Pro Tools sound such as system sounds, games or other applications through your Digidesign hardware.
The Digidesign Control Panel supports the following hardware on Mac OS 9:
Pro Tools|HD
Pro Tools|24 MIX
Pro Tools|24
Digi 002
Digi 001
Mbox
Audiomedia III
Project II
ok so the above is for sound manager support - for ASIO, is there really absolutely no ASIO for digi 002 on macos9?
i thought it gets installed when you install PTLE 5.3.2? as an option during the installer?
theres no ASIO on OSX either.. so perhaps they didnt have enough resources to provide ASIO for os9, when the way forward at the time was OSX with core audio.. which was something new that they needed to accomodate and provide support for.
