Title: Quicksilver - No serial number
Post by: Jacques on February 29, 2024, 12:41:00 PM
My Quicksilver reports no system serial number in either OS9 or 10.3/10.4. There is a serial number on the system spec badge on the back which leads me to believe the system board was replaced at one point. Is there any way to flash the old serial number to the new board? I don’t have any software that relies on the system serial number, I just don’t like seeing it blank. Something to do in open firmware?

Thank you

Did a bit of digging and found a 'Blank Board Serializer' tool used by Apple service technicians. Will try it tonight.

Edit - This worked, very easy and simple to do.

Now I just need to find out why the speaker will randomly start with a low 'hiss'
