hi there
after messing around with my 1,67 Ghz PB i just successfully installed Mac OS 9.2.2 (BOOT ROM 10.2.1) on this very machine:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powerbook_g4/specs/powerbook_g4_1.0_12.html
As the internal DVD/CD-Rom-drive doesn't work anymore it even let me install the Boot-CD (following Cloudanes steps http://macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=2280.0 ) via an external USB-CD-Drive.
When booting from the CD the PB offered only the 256 colours. Later booting from HD with everything installed it sticks at "millions of colours" and a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels. I could not change anything configuration wise.
Airport and DVD Player.app is not working. It also felt like quiet slow in decompressing a .iso image file through Stuffit.
But so far so good. Amazing things going on here 8). thx

We need 1kWindows test from this non accelerated unsupported machine.
The older model 867 ALU 12" seem to run nice.
This has NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 (4X AGP) with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM.

Has anyone had any luck getting GPU acceleration or basic video support working on the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200?

I've tried to get basic 'NDRV' support working for unsupported GeForce cards, but no luck. The 'NDRV's require the support of the NVDAResMan, and I can't figure how to hack it to support new cards.

is there a chance to boot os9 on a powerbook G4 1,5ghz fw800?

All of the models I've tried with the PPC 7447A/7447B CPUs have unsupported trackpads. I've tried removing the USB drivers which enables trackpad use, but it's still unusable/too slow.

IMO the 5,1 is this the best choice for OS9
Apple PowerBook G4 1.0 Ghz 17" Aluminum

However, we would have never got the Mini without pressing on... so please keep trying !

Definitely agree. Every device except the Airport and Graphics acceleration are supported in my 15". My second best choice is the 5,3 1.33Ghz 17" - PCMCIA is the only additional device that doesn't work. It's much faster and super nice on a 17" screen.
