Thank You.
... but I just find some minor bugs related to the alias inside some button/packages: it must be relinked...
A temporary solution is to select "show package contents" and launch the desired app from there.

Any way, may be we have new and improved version soon...  ;)

That's how the thing go....  -afro-

The MacTron Rescue CD now have the option to install the full and most recent Mac Os 9.2.2 version (CPU 5.9) thanks to DieHard.

I have to make some test before upload it. Let's hope, at least most of the things work well :)
... and change the name to Mac Os 9 Rescue & Restore MacOs9lives Edition. LOL

When I try to unpack the CD Stuffit 7.03 gives me the following message after unpacking everything. Stuffit 5.5 simply quits without doing anything, ... ? Anybody else had such problems, or any idea?

I've just successfully download, unstuffed, mounted, installed and booted with "MacTron Rescue CD".
Now I'll try the same with "MacOS9Lives Rescue & Install CD" (this is the one that include a full Mac Os 9 restore image).
Let's see how it goes...

It goes really bad. because the file is incomplete. Maybe due to a bad upload ¿?
Any way, I'm going to try upload it again...

Thanks for reuploading. Sadly I get exactly the same error from Stuffit 7, … but surprisingly this time Toast was able to mount the image subsequently to unpacking.

The CD is damn cool. There are some programs I didn´t know yet.
Only thing I am wondering about is, why are several programs named ".pkg"? Is that some OSX issue?

And finally I´d have some suggestions for further useful tools if you plan to do an other update some day. Shall I write them down here?

It is weird, because I've downloaded, unstuffed, mounted this new upload without any problem...

No, they are Mac Os 9 packages (bundles). If they not show a proper icon, and/or show a error when clicked:

I unpacked it at another partition right now, and this time everything went well. So it seems I had a local problem here. Sorry for annoying you with this issue.

I´t suggest to include:

• "BundleFix"
It is a great neat program that fixes the BundleBit (generic Icons problems) by Drag&Drop
• "CanOpener"
For getting "Emergency Access" to many many files.
• "PrefsOverload"
It is to solve al the problems with Preferences files that may occure at Macs. Including detection of damaged prefs, and many more
• "ExtensionsTracker 1.1"
Monitors changes to Extensions and Control Panels folders. Helps you to resolve extensions conflict problems. (As PrefsOverload you can get it for free by the original producers: http://www.ziksw.com/support/legacy/ )
• "MountEverything"
It is just for SCSI but a extremely useful tool if you are still using SCSI. Mounts everything you can imagine.
• "Virex 6.1 or 6.2"
With the latest Virus definitions from 2007 it is the best Anti Virus program for Mac OS 9 as I think.
• I´d go for HardDiscToolKit as well. It stil solved many issues, and has outstanding disc informations
• Kilometre Browser
for getting access to long filenames, invisible files, changing permissions and such stuff.
http://www.faustic.com/km/old/kilometre_1.1.0.sit
• A real good editor like the latest BBEdit or "pepper-4.0.3"

how do u create these packages/bundles?

Yes it is, but no here.

To create a package/bundle from a folder, first make an alias of the main file inside the folder and then set the folder attribute package/bundle ON. This can be done with "FileTyper" or a similar app...

.pkg looks confusing when you look at it from OSX.
insert arbitrary signature here

A new version is almost ready. I only have to upload it.
ChangeLog:
- Fixed alias issues inside packages.
- Classilla fixed and updated to latest version.
- Added Cubasis VST to the "basic applications set".
- Enhanced support for non Apple mouse.
- iMic ROM included as alternative ROM.

The image file is now .iso and .zip compressed to allow to be recorded into non Mac systems. Mac OS is also supported of course!

The image file is read and write to allow "on the fly" some minor fixes. ( like changing the standar ROM by the iMic one to try to boot unsupported hardware )

The System folder in this image "MacTron System Folder" is the base system folder I use in Most of my macs. So it can be used as alternative system folder. It can be completed with items form the included full image if needed.
