Title: Virtual PC 6 upgrade not working [fixed]

hey folks,

unable to successfully run the update for VPC 6 to 6.12

can't get 'Updater v6.1.2' to recognize a valid install of 6. fyi, it runs through fine until a certain point of where it rejects it because it says it can't find a legit version.


any ideas? has anyone actually been successful with this upgrade with the files provided?

figured it out. Had to upgrade to 6.1.1 update first via this microsoft link:

the update required me to upgrade to StuffIt 7.x in order for it to extract.

After that, I was able to install the 6.1.2 update via the link provided on os9lives.

Vectrex,

Can you upload the actual MS update as an attachment and I will included it with the download as an intermediate step.

As I posted elsewhere,  I cannot get Virtual PC to run on OS9.2.2. When I click through the 7 or so windows to authorize, etc, instead of opening up the  main window (like it does perfectly under 10.4) it opens again page 1 of the authorization sequence. I did with and without updates. No shared Lib complaints, and it accepts the serial #. Anyone have this happen?

I have installed it under 9.2.2 Many times without any issues... :(
