It was an good solution for studio/console owners in that age. Expandable VCA mixer for any analog console. Even more for those mixers without motorized faders.

I think the following kit to automate a Mackie mixer that happened soon after this was one of the big studio killer. SSL for anyone.

I toured on my youth with a big analog 32/48 channel YAMAHA PM console that had MIDI automation for mutes. That in a MTC environment has some sense, but as a young live PA engineer I didnt understand the utility in the early 2000īs
