« on: January 29, 2023, 07:08:24 PM »

Hello, I noticed on ebay is a set of unused Apple branded DVD-Rs, I assume at the time of iDVD these were available for burning DVDs, are these DVD's still good for burning even in 2023 ?

Thanks !

And thank you all for your support for Ukraine.

as long as they've been stored properly there's no reason they should not work.

back in the day when DVD burner drives first came to market, Apple's drives were somewhat picky with what media they would write to... and that was before you even got to the problem of at that time they had DVD-R drives and DVD+R drives were just coming to market and blank media was not compatible between the two. It was very confusing for consumers. Apple sold these as a "guaranteed" blank media that would work properly in their machines. I used a lot of these before it got easier to find compatible blank media through cheaper channels. I want to say at the time they worked out to about $10 for each blank disk.
