Temperature Display & Fan controller Drive Bay
« on: August 28, 2022, 08:50:31 AM »

Hi,
This might interest some of you.
I am quite happy to have discovered this Temperature display and Fan controller thanks to ActionRetro on his Youtube channel.
It is not really cheap, but for $20, you have a device with 3 temperature probes, displaying the T.

You can manually adjust the fan Speed with 3 settings (6, 9 and 12V).
The speed is adjusting automatically
Speed 2 starts at 40c
Speed 3 starts at 60c
You can also set up an Alarm T (40 to 90c) . Unfortunately, this does not have any impact on the T for automatic speed adjustment, just remain at 40 and 60.
I spent quite sometime with my Quicksilver, measuring the T of the CPU heatsink, Video card ans exhaust air to select the best combination Fan, Noise, Efficiency by using the BBQ thermometer, supposed to check the meat T  ;D
Would have been easier with this one.
I am right now measuring the Quicksilver again, will post later on the impact on the previous results.
Here is the link if you are interested.

It is also available on Aliexpress at $7.40 but $10 for shipping.
If enough people are interested, may be macos9lives might negotiate a deal like for the Sinloon IDE to SATA bridge  8)

How about a bit better lit, detailed close-up of the CPU connection?

To maybe determine any possible application with heat-sinked CPUs.

Very cool btw. (No pun intended.) ;)

Attached pictures of the 3 temperature sensors.
As you can see, it does fit pretty well the CPU heatsink but not small enough for the GPU heatsink. Anyway, using some heat tape, you can position the sensor against the heatsink.
