Ethernet on PowerBook5,2

Hey all,
I've installed the main 9.2.2 for Unsupported G4s ISO you guys provide here and that all went well, the machine is working almost as if OS 9 is native to it apart from sleep and the most notable thing, ethernet. System profiler is stating the link is up, ive given it an IP that is not in use in TCP/IP and all but there does not appear to be any sort of working internet access, both local and over the net. I am able to ping the machine from the router and other desktops but yeah, unable to access anything on the powerbook itself. If anyone knows if this is a common issue and/or if theres a way to resolve this that would be outstanding.

If you're entering an IP Address manually, you also must enter a Gateway and a DNS Server address.
But it is easier to specify only the DHCP Server and rely on it for the other details (assuming you have a DHCP server on your network).

Yeah i've done all this, everything that needs to be specified is specified. IP, subnet, gateway, dns. The issue is the link is up, other computers can see the mac and system profiler sees the link as working, i'm just unable to actually access anything locally like my FTP server or access the internet.

I can ping the machine just fine, see here (x.x.x.21 being the address i have assigned to this powerbook):

It may also be worth noting that aside from being a 5,2, this exact PowerBook is a 15" 1.0GHz model

You didn't specify: Hardwire Ethernet or Wi-Fi?
If Wi-Fi, you may have an encryption issue between the PBook and the router. That would account for a successful ping but no ability to pass data.

The subnet mask /24 (255.255.255.0) is correct for my network, that is what is set on the Mac
